Innovation capability analysis-city of Luckenwalde

The city of Luckenwalde belongs along with four out of Brandenburg's 16 branch competences to regional growth areas. The branches with exceptional growth potential in the regional growth area Luckenwalde are biotechnology, automotive, food industry, as well as metal.

The main goal of this project is to examine and evaluate innovation capabilities and potentials, as well as the determinants and constraints of the innovation activities of firms in the four branch competences in the regional growth area Luckenwalde. Based on the findings from the analyses, a regional development strategy will be worked out which includes some policy implications and suggestions. These recommendations will both depict the need for action and procedures how to optimize the business environment and conditions in order to improve the innovativeness and competitiveness of firms located in Luckenwalde.
