The Climate Policy Department of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) uses empirical and theoretical approaches to examine the past impacts and future design options of policy instruments for the transformation toward climate neutrality. The department’s work focuses on the electricity, industrial and building sectors, and we also do research on sustainable finance, and international sector-specific climate cooperation.
We are looking for two student assistants (f/m/div) to support a research project, starting as soon as possible, for 10–12 hours per week.
Contribute to research projects on energy policy and industrial transformation
Assist with data analysis and model-based analyse
Conduct literature reviews and gather relevant data
Support the organization and execution of workshops and seminars
• Advanced Bachelor's student or early-stage Master's student in economics, environmental economics, finance, sustainability studies, or a related field
• Demonstrated interest and initial experience in energy and climate policy
• Solid understanding of empirical methods and microeconomic theory
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, R) is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Independent, reliable, and detail-oriented working style
