EUSECON (A New Agenda for European Security Economics) is a four-year collaborative research project that analyzes the causes, dynamics, and long-term effects of both human-induced insecurity threats and European security policies.The EUSECON project broadly defines "insecurity" to include terrorism and organized crime. The project's focus is on the human drivers of insecurity. The consortium utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to promote in-depth understanding of insecurity threats emerging from terrorism and organized crime. It aims to uncover the much-needed information base for effective domestic and international security policy. There will also be an emphasis on identifying and limiting the costs of anti-terror policies, in order to achieve secure growth.
