Klaus F. Zimmermann elected as member of Academia Europaea

DIW President Klaus F. Zimmermann has been elected to become a member of the Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe). The Academy's members are scientists and scholars who collectively aim at promoting learning, education and research. Founded in 1988, the non-governmental association now has over 2000 members, among them 38 Nobel laureates and other leading experts from the physical sciences and technology, biological sciences and medicine, mathematics, the letters and humanities, social and cognitive sciences, economics, and the law. Zimmermann is the first German economist since 1991 to be invited into the Academy's economics section.
