Sabine Zinn was appointed Professor of Social Science Methods with a focus on survey methodology at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin on November 4, 2020. We congratulate her and are pleased that she will continue to serve as a member of the SOEP Board of Directors and as head of the division of Survey Methodology and Management. SOEP Director Stefan Liebig commented, “We are also very pleased that Ms. Zinn’s appointment will extend and deepen our cooperation with the Institute for Social Sciences at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in the years to come.”
Sabine Zinn, who joined SOEP in 2019 in her current position as division head, studied business mathematics at the University of Jena. She worked as a doctoral student in statistical demography at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, and subsequently as a statistician in the National Educational Panel Project (NEPS) at the University of Bamberg. She then became head of the Statistical Survey Methods department at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories in Bamberg.
Sabine Zinn obtained her doctorate in Modeling and Simulation in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Rostock. At the University of Bamberg she earned her teaching qualifications in the fields of Survey Statistics and Demography.
