SOEP Conference 2022 – Awards Ceremonies

The SOEP Conference 2022 took place from June 30 to July 1, 2022 and was a great success. We were very happy to finally hold our bi-annual conference at DIW Berlin again after being postponed due to the pandemic. Events like this conference are an important part of scientific life and we are pleased that all participants were there to help make it a success.

Of the about 80 participants from 9 different countries, the scientific committee for the SOEP conference (Marco Caliendo, Theresa Entringer, Philipp Lersch, Stefan Schmukle, Pia Schober, Carsten Schröder, and Olaf Struck) accepted around 50 submissions for presentation.

The SOEP Conference 2022 ended with its awards ceremony.

The prizes for the best presentations at the SOEP Conference went to the authors of three outstanding presentations: A Joachim R. Frick Memorial Prize 2022 went to Laila Schmitt from University of Munich (LMU). Another Joachim R. Frick Memorial Prize 2022 went to Maximilian Blesch and his co-authors from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Bonn University, the Freie Universität Berlin, and the DIW Berlin. And the final Joachim R. Frick Memorial Prize 2022 went to Max Deter and Martin Lange from the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).

The Felix Büchel Award 2022, which is presented every two years to the SOEP user who best demonstrates the qualities of excellence in scholarship exemplified by Felix Büchel, went to C. Katharina Spieß. Uwe Sunde gave the laudatory address.

Constantin Terton presented the awards on behalf of the Society of Friends of DIW Berlin.
