He investigates the effects of monetary and fiscal policy on the economy, including their impact on private and public interest rates, gross domestic product, and inflation. A central focus of his work is the interaction between these two policy areas. In doing so, he explicitly accounts for household heterogeneity and the role of economic inequality in shaping the transmission of monetary and fiscal policy throughout the economy.
His research is published in leading journals, including the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Political Economy Macroeconomics, the Economic Journal, and the Journal of International Economics. He has been a member of the editorial board of the European Economic Review since 2017.
