On October 6 and 7, 2026, we are organizing a two-day workshop on the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at DIW Berlin. In addition to presentations on the composition, data structure, sampling design, and weighting strategy, hands-on sessions will offer a practical approach to the data and its potential.
The workshop is aimed at researchers at all qualification levels who want to work with SOEP data in the future or are currently in the early stages of SOEP-based data analysis.
The workshop provides an introduction to working with SOEP data in R or Stata. Participants are expected to have a basic working knowledge of at least one of these programs. Those who prefer to use other statistical software are welcome to do so, provided they can work with it independently.
The workshop will be held in English!
If you have any further questions about the organizational aspects of the workshop, please contact Janina Britzke. Cristóbal Moya will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the content.
The number of participants is limited. However, participation is free of charge and refreshments and snacks will be provided during breaks. We are not able to provide lunch! But there are numerous cafés, bakeries, and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Registration has not yet started, please check this website or our newsletter again in summer (August)!
