Franziska Holz and Wolf-Peter Schill members of the "Energy System of the Future" of the Academies of Sciences and Humanities

Prof. Dr. Franziska Holz, Deputy Head of the Department of Energy, Transport, Environment, and Dr. Wolf-Peter Schill, Head of the Research Department "Transformation of the Energy Industry" in the Department of Energy, Transport, Environment were appointed members of "Energy System of the Future" (ESYS) in December 2025 for the next three years. ESYS is an initiative of the German Academy of Science and Engineering, the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities with about 130 scientists and experts. Prof. Dr. Holz is currently working in the working group on "Resilience in the supply of energy raw materials". Dr. Schill is currently a member of a working group on scenario comparisons. Previously, he was involved in working groups on hydrogen imports (2020-2022) and the role of baseload power plants in the energy system of the future (2023-2024).
