Jana Wittich is a Doctoral student at the Berlin School of Economics and the DIW Graduate Center. Since 2022, she has been working in the Macroeconomics Department, where she contributes to the institute’s economic forecasts. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in Governance and Public Policy and European Studies from the University of Passau, with a specialization in Economics, Global Governance and Political Science. She obtained her master’s degree in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin. During her master’s studies, Jana worked as a research assistant in the Macroeconomics Department of DIW Berlin. In addition, she gained research experience at the Economics of Change Unit at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. Jana’s research interests lie in empirical macroeconomics, particularly at the intersection of climate change, monetary policy, and income inequality. Her research has been published in the European Economic Review and the Journal of Banking and Finance.
