Jana Wittich is a Ph.D. student at the DIW Berlin Graduate Center and a research associate in the Macroeconomics Department. She holds two Bachelor degrees in Governance and Public Policy and European Studies from the University of Passau, with a specialization in Economics, Global Governance and Political Science. During her studies, she spent two semesters at the University of Nantes, France. Subsequently, she obtained a M.Sc. in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin. In the course of her master studies, Jana worked as a research assistant of Prof. Marcel Fratzscher and at the Macroeconomics Department of DIW Berlin. In addition, she gained research experience at the Economics of Change Unit at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. In her Master’s thesis, she empirically analyzed the effects of ECB monetary policy announcements on structural reform activity in the euro area. Her research interests lie in the fields of empirical macroeconomics, monetary policy and financial stability.
