Laura Schmitz

Laura joined the Energy, Transport, Environment department as a postdoctoral research associate in July 2023. She conducts research at the intersection of environmental and social policy, with a particular interest in the effects of air pollution on citizen's lives, including their health and human capital. Previously, Laura completed her PhD at FU Berlin and DIW's Graduate Center and worked in the Education and Family Department from 2019-2023. Laura has an interdisciplinary background with degrees in European Studies, Public Policy, and Economics. Prior to her PhD, she worked for the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva and Zambia.
