Alexander Roth

Alexander Roth

Alexander is a postdoctoral research associate in the department of energy, transportation, environment. He works on the decarbonization of the energy sector, using numerical and empirical methods. His research focuses on power market flexibilities, sector coupling, such as heat, and societal challenges of the energy transition. He obtained his PhD in economics from the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin). Prior, he studied in Mannheim and Brussels. Before joining the DIW, Alexander worked in the climate action department of the European Commission and as a researcher for the Brussels-based think tank Bruegel.
