Bericht vom 6. August 2014
For the third time the Graduate Center Summer Workshop took place in the avendi Hotel at Griebnitz Lake in Potsdam from July 2nd to 4th 2014. One more time it turned out to be a big success for the participating students. During the three-day workshop, GC11 and GC12 doctoral students presented their current research and received feedback from their supervisors and peers. The workshop was well attended by professors, doctoral students and external guests. Its program consisted of 22 presentations that covered a large range of topics in economics. Beyond the academic presentations, the workshop included canoeing and a presentation held by Paul Viefers on the academic job market in the US. As an external speaker Prof. Michael C. Burda from Humbolt University Berlin was invited to present the German Economic Association.
The workshop provided a great opportunity for PhD students to present their advanced and preliminary findings and discuss them with fellow researchers. We would like to thank DIW Berlin for funding the event. The Summer Workshop has been developed as an annual tradition of the DIW Graduate Center.
