Abgeschlossenes Projekt
Project PAGE focuses on the effects of the benefit amount that is paid monthly to parents taking parental leave in Germany. The monthly amount is usually between 65 percent and 100 percent of the leave-taking parent’s net earnings in the pre-birth period. The project examines whether eligibility for a higher/lower monthly amount changes the decision to take leave and if there are consequences for subsequent careers paths. In particular the project estimates impacts of the benefit amount on the difference between mothers and fathers earnings several years into parenthood, which is an important competent of the gender pay gap in society.
