Jonas joined the DIW Graduate Center in 2024 and has been a PhD candidate in the climate policy department since October 2025. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration and Economics and an M.Sc. in Economics from Leipzig University as well as a master's degree in Development Economics from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. During his studies, he gained working experience at the Institute for Economic Research Halle (IWH) and in the Biodiversity Economics research group at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv). In his research, he focuses on climate policy issues, especially the design of German and European electricity markets.
