Abstract

The economy was noticeably impacted by containment measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, homeowners and tenants had difficulty meeting their short-term obligations, such as paying mortgages and rent. In response to this dire situation, governments around the world implemented various restrictive and stimulating measures. These measures aimed to support tenants and homeowners during this challenging period. This chapter provides a detailed analysis of the measures employed to address the crisis and evaluates their respective pros and cons based on international experience.
