Dr. Alexander Schiersch is a researcher at DIW Berlin, where his work centers on productivity and the competitiveness of firms. He studies how technological shifts – particularly digitalization – and economic policy measures drive firm-level dynamics, while identifying the key factors that determine how firms compete and thrive. His research also explores the broader socio-ecological transformation within Germany and Europe. A recognized expert in administrative microdata, Dr. Schiersch serves on the Scientific Advisory Board (WBK) of the Research Data Centres of the Federal Statistical Office and the Statistical Offices of the Länder for the 2023–2027 term.
