Ruben Staffa is a researcher in the Macroeconomics Department at DIW Berlin, where he is responsible for forecasting trade developments in trade as well as managing data infrastructure and preparation within the forecasting unit. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from the Free University Berlin and his master's degree in money and finance from Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. At the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research Halle (IWH) he worked for more than four years as a research assistant in economic forecasting. His research focuses in particular on the economic effects of sovereign risk and the interaction of monetary and fiscal policy.
