Lorenz Meister joined the DIW GC as a PhD student and scholarship recipient in 2020. He completed his MSc in Economics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In his master’s thesis, he analyzed the impact of the EU Emissions Trading System on greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union. He has left Munich for academic stays at Columbia University and the London School of Economics, where he studied international politics and econometrics.
Lorenz worked on research projects for the OECD, the United Nations, and the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy. His primary interests are in the fields of socio-economic inequality, migration, and health economics. His main motivation is to promote and shape evidence-based policy by the means of his research.
